Vika

Vika for Abstracta is a striking sculptural piece that defines space in multiples, acts as a standalone piece of lighting sculpture, and as a pendant light. The wing-like fold is a composition of two interlocking elements that traps sound and sandwiches light, allowing for a beautiful ambient glow. Made from recyclable and recycled moulded PET Felt pressings that allows for excellent sound absorption as well as giving a soft and calm presence.

Vika, is the result of a new and exciting collaboration between Abstracta and influential industrial designer Khodi Feiz. Vika is a floor screen that manages both low-frequency and high-frequency sounds while radiating pleasant ambient light. “It’s another way of thinking about sound (absorption) and light, giving presence to two intangible qualities.” Vika, in many ways, has been inspired by our project Noor designed in 2000, coming full circle to its optimum essence.
