Context
The overriding inspirations can be summed up by: clarity, concept and context.
Context
To be inspired by the environment you are designing for is a very strong starting point. Often not thinking of the object but of the context that creates the object and answering its needs can lead to new and surprising results.
Observing those “moments” which we engage in while seated was the key inspiration for this project. Noticing that we rarely “just sit”, we started to reflect on all the activities we do while sitting: all the moments that we read, drink a cup of coffee, work, engage in conversation. The context gave us our inspiration.
The Cocoon range for Denon is composed of a high performance ‘Home’ version and the smaller ‘Portable’ version with long-life rechargeable batteries. By understanding the contextual requirements of our homes and our outdoor environments we can create more meaningful designs.
Cesto is all about freedom and flexibility. The flexibility to gather and collaborate spontaneously. Freely re-configuring and morphing into settings depending on your needs throughout the day. Creating a dynamic and effective layout reflective of today's social work. Social collaboration as a contextual starting point.
